...Held Together By Clothes Pins & Tension....

Welcome to my little corner of the World Wide Web. I am just kicking back, relaxing, and talking about all the stuff that I can possibly think of. Plus, I can get people to read it...and leave me comments. :)

"Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type.. I'm like, "hey girl, magenta!" and she's like, "oh, you mean purple!" and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, "no - I want magenta!" --John Mayer--

Trials and Tribulations...Plus CLASS!

*whew* I am sooo tired. I woke up at about 8 a.m. this morning...and I haven't had a nap today because I have been in class. But, before I get into that, let me just tell you about what is going on.

I was living in Terrace Hall, which is overflow housing for only this semester. I do believe after that they are going to tear it down or something. Anyway, since everyone needed to be out at the end of the semester, I decided that I may as well just move out right now. We were told that the available rooms would be in with our RHD (Resident Hall Director) at 8 a.m. I had no clue how serious people were about moving! Everyone said that you should get their early becuase there would be a lot of people waiting even before he got to his office with the sheet. There was definately no way that I wasn't getting one of the best offers, so Markita and I decided to get up at 6 a.m. the first day of classes to sit in the hallway outside of his office.

When we got down there, their were already three boys in LINE! They had been there since 4:30 in the morning. Luckily, we came at the best time, because right after we posted up on the floor, a bunch more boys showed up. By the time 8 rolled around the line was so long we couldn't see the end! Basically, the first 20-30 people were able to get rooms but the rest are still living there because there aren't any available yet. Fortunately, I was the second girl in line for a room, so I had my pick of any available rooms. :) I picked to live in the brand new dorms with AIR and nice NEW furniture! The only bad thing was that I didn't get the single that I wanted. So, needless to say, it was time to see what the roommate situation had to offer. (yeah...I know...ewww)

I personally am glad that I didn't get stuck with a GHETTO black girl. Ashleigh (my new roommate) is pretty nice actually. I don't know if I really like her yet, because I can't tell if she is being fake or if that is just how she is.....But all I know is that I don't have time for fake people. Hopefully I won't have to be upset about this arrangement.

CLASSES are great so far. I think that I can get throught these with a minimum of hassle.
Here are the classes I am taking:
Oceanography
Intro to Archeology
Criticisim of Public Discourse
Foundations of Communications
Oceanography seems very interesting. The lady that teaches the class has a lot of different things on her website like notes, study questions, and all kinds of hints to make it do-able.

Intro. to Archeology is being taught by the oldest professor known to man. He kind of reminds me of Yoda. He is like german or something and he talks very soft. He told us that he has cancer so he may miss some days and he might die. I was ROLLING. Who just says that they might die? And he walks with a cane, and he saidd that he would start smacking people if they aren't listening.

Criticisim of Public Discourse seems like it might be a bit tough. My professor is a biker guy with a deep voice and bad teeth. He seems nice though. I think that I will really like this class because I will get to express my opinion.

Foundations of Communications seems like the easiest class EVER and a big waste of my time. I have a lecture and a lab, and they are basically teaching us how to be good communications majors. Weird.

I would write more...but I am extremely tired. I think I may take a nap before I try to fight the masses for some dinner. There are ALWAYS a thousand people trying to eat when I do.

Bottom Line- Mollie is my #1.
